Tim’s Malachite/Ebony/Ivory
Custom Pool Cue
Tim Dame is an accomplished pool player here in the
West Palm Beach Area. We have been friends for many
years, and Tim has been a great inspiration to me since
I first decided to become a Cuemaker. This is the fourth
High-End cue that I have made for Tim. I believe
it is the nicest of them all (maybe ).
Tim and I first designed the butt sleeve. We selected
Gaboon Ebony to host the Ivory Inlays (two elongated
Ivory Diamonds with a convex center into which a Malachite
diamond was inlaid). One at zero degrees and one at
180 degrees.
We then added two elongated Ivory Diamonds with a
Concave center within which we placed two oval-shaped
Malachite Inlays. One at 90 degrees and one at 270
degrees.
Next we picked out a wonderful piece of Birdseye Maple
for the forearm. This time the diamond theme gave way
to a Convex, dagger-shaped Ivory Inlay, within which
was placed a Malachite Diamond and inlaid into the
Four Ebony Points in the Forearm.
We finally settled on an Ivory Joint and an Ivory
Butt Cap. The four Ebony Points are encased in White/Green/White/Black
veneers contrasting smartly with the Ebony and the
Maple forearm. These veneers are hand-inlaid into the
short splice, which results in the razor sharp points
pictured. I hope you enjoy the cue.
