Grey Ghost Custom Pool Cue

Sold to John Morse – Dayton, NV

Arnot has pioneered the use of laminated woods in fine cues. The wood has absolutely no downside. Most exotic and rare woods used in custom cues today are a “trade off”. You get something and you give up something. Most of the time it is a weight-color issue but sometimes it is more serious. Some woods are just not suitable for cues but we see them used all the time by other cuemakers. A good indication that the wood should not be used is when it must be “Cored”. Coring means to drill a hole all the way through the forearm and insert a piece of stable wood such as maple. I believe all wood should be stable or it should not be used. That is just my personal opinion. The Grey Ghost started with a piece of laminated and dyed wood that had been seasoning in my shop for over 3 years. The grey color (also called silver) brings to mind a time in this country when there was a battle going on between the Northern States and the Southern States. Every night somewhere in this country there are many battles going on in poolrooms. Though they don’t result in death (most of the time) they are non the less serious contest between men. It helps to have a fine cue in your hand – one that will deliver a true, solid and consistent hit each and every shot.

As I started building this cue I saw that it needed some Ivory Diamonds in the Butt Sleeve. Then the forearm looked naked and also needed matching Ivory Diamonds. Next the joint was lacking so I added 8 small Ivory Diamonds. The only thing it might need to bring out the color better would be a black leather wrap.

This cue includes the following:

  • Laminated and Dyed Maple
  • One TerminatorShaftT3™ or One #1 HardMaple Shaft
  • 8 Large Ivory Diamonds
  • 8 Small Ivory Diamonds In Joint
  • Black with White Speck GenuineIrish Linen Wrap
  • Joint Protectors
