Curly Maple - Goncalo Alves Road Player Custom Pool Cue

This is the first cue of the year 2005 and the first cue to feature Arnot’s “Million Dollar Finish”. It was made for my Web Master. We appreciate his dedication to Arnot Q Custom Cues and the many contributions he has made to our web site. Thanks Chad.

Chad wanted a custom cue that he felt comfortable taking to the pool room. His other cues are so nice that he was afraid to take them out into the world. He might just find that this cue is also too nice.

I had wanted to make this cue for some time but just didn’t have an excuse to do so. Chad’s timing was perfect. We started with seasoned Curly Maple, added the Goncalo Alves Ringwork and Handle and toped it off with the Goncalo Alves Joint. Of course the joint was backed-up with Double Black Linen Based Fiber for strength and stability. We added a little joint inlayed trim ring bordered by silver rings. You should note that all sections of this cue are reinforced at each end by Linen Based Fiber to prevent splitting. We had to precision make 31 trim rings for this cue. Each ring had to be individually made, installed and glued in place with 2-part Devcon Epoxy Glue. The adhesive shear strength (GPS) of this Epoxy Glue is 1,900 pounds per square inch. The Curly Maple was given a very light stain to accent the figure of the wood.

Arnot’s “Million Dollar” finish didn’t cost $1,000,000.00. It was the first thought that crossed my mind when I first examined the new state of the art UV Catalyzed Epoxy Finish. It is water clear, very hard, tough and durable. It is resistant to dings and very forgiving. I am finally happy with a finish. It has taken over 10 years. It has EVERYTHING a finish is supposed to have.

This custom pool cue was created for the most discerning Player. A player of unusual insight and understanding who wants a nice looking, solid hitting custom pool cue but not one that so high priced that you afraid to use it. This pool cue is an unpretentious deadly weapon of the highest caliber. This Road Player Has much Attitude!
