The Slimline
Jump Break Custom Pool Cue
The “Slimline”; a word coined by Arnot
to quickly describe his newest innovation in custom
cues. This cue features a “Slim” handle.
It tapers smaller .040 of an inch (a little more
than 1/32 of an inch) to the center of the handle
area and
tapers larger .040 toward the start of the butt
sleeve. This taper is ideal for the player who
has small
hands of just likes a smaller handle. Whatever
the reason
it feels wonderful and the further back you grip
the cue the larger it feels until you reach the
regular size of the cue at the butt sleeve. It
is a compound
taper within the original taper if you want to
get technical.
You are invited to pay particular attention to the
other details that distinguish an Arnot Jump
Break from other two piece cues:
The Titanium Radial Pin™. When Arnot wanted a
lighter stronger Radial Pin™ the Uni-Loc™ people
were happy to accommodate him. The first Titanium Radial
Pin was installed in Arnot’s personal Jump Break
Cue over
5 years ago. It works just as perfectly today
as it did the day the cue was made. The Titanium
Radial Pin™ is
the lightest, most expensive and most accurate pin
on the market today. It is simply best of all. The
Titanium Radial Pin™ cost over $25.00 plus shipping.
Their pins cost under $1.00. The Titanium Radial Pin™ is
also almost an ounce lighter than stainless steel
pins. Lighter jump cues jump better and higher
than heavier
cues.
The Jump Handle is only 11-1/2 inch long. Coupled
to the TerminatorShaftT3 (Jump Break Taper) the
unit becomes 40 π inches long. The BCA rulebook
requires the jump cue to be at least 40 inches long.
We made
it legal plus 1/2 inch for argument’s
sake. We made it shorter to decrease the weight
of the
jump cue portion. The shorter the jump unit is
much more
difficult it is to make because this short piece
must be added for aesthetic and performance reasons.
Please
note that almost all other jump break cues are
42 inches long because it is easier and cheaper
for
the cuemaker
to make it that way.)
Heck, they are not going to the time and expense
of adding this piece in front of the handle.
They certainly
don’t take the time to match the grain and figure
of the wood all the way through the cue from the forearm
to the butt sleeve. Little touches like that separate
Arnot’s cues from the others.
(It is not as difficult or expensive to include
this piece and that saves the cuemaker money
but it makes
the whole cue heavier and that cuts down on the
jump cue and break cue performance.)
You are also invited to note that every piece
of this cue, the forearm, handle and butt sleeve
have
the ends
reinforced with Double Black Linen Based Fiber
to prevent the cue from splitting. You don’t
find this premium material on most cues if they
even go
to the trouble
to add collars at all.
Each Arnot Jump Break Cue comes with the World
Renowned TerminatorShaftT3 (Jump Break Taper)
with your choice
of Arnot’s special phenolic/leather tip or
the Water Buffalo Hard Tip for maximum cue ball
control. Most customers select the Hard Water Buffalo
Tip
because
it jumps almost as good as the phenolic/leather
tip but offers much better breaking and cue ball
control.
Bird’s Eye Maple. A super nice piece of Birds
Eye Maple is selected to give this cue the look
it deserves. This cue has attitude!
