The Delrosario Tulipwood Custom Cue

This cue was designed by Mark Delrosario of Jersey City, NJ. It was a real pleasure working with Mark. He was very patient throughout the cuemaking process.

We started with a very nice piece of Bird's Eye Maple and some Tulipwood that was seasoned for over 6 years. First we inlayed 3 points of Ebony. Next we inlayed 3 points of Tulipwood bordered by 4 Veneers (White, green, white and black). We bordered each section of the cue with 1/8 inch squares of ivory; the joint, in front of and behind the wrap and at the butt cap. We used Matching Tulipwood for the Joint and for strength we bordered the Tulipwood with Double Black Linen Based Fiber. Linen Based Fiber used strategically throughout the cue adds strength to the cue's critical areas and prevents splitting of the wood. Mark selected Genuine Irish Linen (white with green specks) for the wrap which was triple pressed for smoothness.
