Approximately 14 months ago I received my 4 Point Tulip Cue with matching Jump/
Break from Arnie. The pair is absolutely nothing short of stunning in appearance.
The bonus for me is these cues perform just as good as they look. Shooting
an Arnot Cue is almost effortless.
My break now averages 2 balls and the table is opened
up to facilitate easy run outs especially in 9 ball. By the way, I found I needed
to ease up on power when utilizing the break cue as I was literally crushing
the rack. Less power allowed the cue to work through the rack. The hit and feel
of this cue is ohhhh so nice. English of any kind is effortless with the laminated
shaft. Just aim and shoot. The draw is incredible if you remember to shoot through
the cue ball instead of punching it.
Unfortunately for me but very much the compliment to
Arnie, my cues are the center of attention most places I go. The attraction to
my cues has resorted in me taking my cues with me just to utilize the men's facilities
as a precautionary measure. While the attention is fun for a while, it cuts down
on my practice. I have discussed the possibility of additional ivory inlays on
the butt and points of this cue. If this occurs, I am quite sure my next purchase
will be a pool table so that I can practice in peace.
On the 20th of January 2001, I finally contacted Arnie
and told him I was in dire need of a "plain Jane" practice cue that
would not attract so much attention. I received my new Rosewood Cue with laminated
shaft on the 31st of January. Despite the fact this cue has no inlays or points,
this cue is breathtakingly beautiful in appearance. The finish is crystal clear
and highly polished allowing you to see the grain and different hues of color
found in Rosewood. The addition of a white wrap with brown specks contrasts nicely
against the dark wood. A tribute to Arnie's abilities in that this cue shares
the same shooting characteristics as my 4 Point Tulip.
The hit, feel, and performance are almost identical.
After 15 minutes time I was shooting with the Rosewood as though I had owned
it for years. If anyone has questions pertaining to the hit or feel of my Arnot
Cues or the service I received from Arnie, PLEASE contact me @ (865) 977-4051.
This testimonial was give of my own free will. I have
not been promised any gratuities nor have I been paid to endorse Arnot Custom
Cues. I FINALLY found a good cue that I could afford!!!

it is safe to say we lead the league in eight ball breaks thanks to my new
weapon....Your new cues look terrific - quit tempting me.!

I have three Arnot Cues with four laminated shafts. I had been playing with
standard maple shafts that in retrospect were rather 'whippy.' But I had played
with them for so long that I had unconsciously adjusted to their characteristics.
Arnot cuts his shafts into 26 strips and puts them back
together (with glue and in a vacuum- I 'think'). These laminated shafts have
a good solid hit, a good 'sound' and a pleasing ball-to-cue 'feel'.
Recently, a good player (Gene "The Glove" Catron)
walked over and asked to look at, shoot with, and inquire as to the cuemaker
who made my cue because he liked the way that it 'sounded' when it struck the
cue ball. Gene had been playing two tables over from me.
The laminated shaft took some getting used to at first,
because you actually have to minimize the amount of 'English' that you use on
shots. I had been shooting with the same old English that I've always used and
was missing many shots because I was 'throwing' the object ball. I've had my
Arnot cues for over two years now and have adjusted to them. I will not EVER
go back to non laminated shafts.
I never use powder on my shafts (only a damp cloth or
paper towel when I'm not at the table shooting), and not only are they still
as new, but I still have the original water buffalo tips with lots of tip left
after two years. While I don't want to sound like an Ad or a paid testimonial
for Arnot, I'm very happy with my cues.
-- Sorry for being so long winded... Doug

Received the 8-point Tulip or "Betsy" as you call her, Arnot. Great
cue! A real joy to play with.
Immediate difference is the lack of deflection when
striking the cue ball. As you said, "Just point and shoot."
I received several compliments on the work and the overall
looks, but most of the league players seemed impressed with the "shootability" of
the cue. Thanks Arnie, I'm looking forward to receiving my new Jump/Break cue.
By the way, I went three wins and no losses in league last night.

Feel free to include the letter below in your testimonial section. Its from
the heart. I played with your cue the first night I was back home and played
till late. I felt more confident about my game after only putting my cue together,
the tightness of the radial pin made the cue feel more accurate and stable.
With some adjustment, I found I can place the ball where
I wanted it more easily. I love the way how the red heart just glows under the
bright light on the table. I am just very impressed that the playability matches
the beauty of the cue. It was well worth the wait. All the cues that I carry
with me in my 3x6 are all Arnot Q's: The red heart Cue, the Jump/break cue, and
my secondary cue, a road player. I think it is safe to say that I am a big fan
of your work!
Thanks again, Matt

I just wanted to say thanks Arnie (as only good friends can
call you) for making for me, what I believe to be the "finest" custom made pool cue that
I've ever shot with, (and now own) in my entire life.
I had the honor of going to Arnie's home (which also
serves as his shop) with my brother on a recent trip I made to Florida. Arnie
is as real as a person as you could ever hope to meet. I got the tour of just "some" of
the most beautiful custom crafted cues that He was working on, and to say the
least I was quite amazed. But the one I was most interested in of course, was
my "own." Arnie made for me the Deluxe "Road Player" cue.
WOW!!!! Arnie is a true craftsman in every sense of the word.
He constructed my Deluxe road player cue to the finest of detail. I could hardly
wait until it was completed. But darn it, I had to wait a couple more days. Arnie
does not "hurry" up his fine work for anyone. And then why should He?
Good quality work, requires time, sweat, and precision. ALL of which Arnie believes
in. And it shows in his awesome cues.
I was also blessed to have been invited, along with
my brother, to sit down to a home made southern meal prepared for us by his lovely
wife Cindy. They would NOT let us leave the house hungry. Arnie is a man who
loves his wife, loves his work, and most of all, loves his Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ. I left there after dinner and drove back to Titusville. A couple of days
later, on my way back to Ft. Lauderdale I stopped by Arnie's house to pick up
my new cue and case. I could hardly wait to get to a billiards hall to hit some
balls.
Well the very first ball I hit with my new cue told
me first hand (for myself), all I had ever heard or read about on his Web-site.
W O W +++++++ the cue almost plays itself. The action and control I got off
the balls, was just too good to be true. It's like hitting the sweet spot
on the tennis racquet, on a forehand winner. The look feel and balance, was "perfect" I
have shot with about just every so called "custom" cues there is
to play with. NONE have ever hit so dead on "solid."
For all you who read this, you will just have to get
your own Arnot cue, because >>MINE IS NOT FOR SALE << Ever! Everyone,
who has hit with my cue expresses the same sentiment. WOW they say Where can
I get one????? well through Arnot of course.
Arnie, Thank you. My game has picked up big time. Thanks
to God, you, and my Deluxe Road Player cue. To all you 9-ball players out there
remember this, you're only as "good" as you think you are, and as "great" as
you want to be. PS: an Arnot cue won't hurt either.

Arnot., Just a quick note to let you know I received
the Indian Rosewood cue yesterday (Sat. 2/26/00) @ apprx. 9:10am. I cued it up
by 9:45 and didn't take a break until 1:50 pm. What an experience ! It arrived
w/o incident in good shape, and is a tribute to your vast cue making experience.
Let me make an initial evaluation that I will expand on next week (when I've
logged some 20-22 hr. on felt). Appearance -- Perhaps
the least important of what I was requiring, nevertheless, a true representation
of your wood selection skills. It is a captivating piece, in a classy, very understated
fashion. The longer one looks, the more beauty one sees. Obviously your 30+ years
in the wood working industry has developed your "eye" in the making
of this (and all your) unique cues; and I'm sure it will "capture" more
fans when I "take it to the street."
Feel -- Deceptively light! It doesn't feel like
19.5oz. I was almost disappointed when I picked up the cue. It is so well balanced
that it is seems like it is CLEARLY too light to weigh 19.5oz., not even close.
However, I was stunned when I weighed it and it was 19.5oz. It is approaching
becoming an extension of my arm, it is so comfortable to shoot.
Play -- Like it's spring loaded. The hit is effortless,
and the cue ball seems to rocket off the end of the cue's tip. ANY follow-thru
(1-2-3inches) and I'm getting exceptional cue action. On my seven spot stop shot
drill, I'm shooting center ball nearly the length of the table, 7-7.5 feet! That's
more slide than I've ever experienced, shooting a lot harder than I do with this
cue. As other owners have shared, my draw shots have raised my cue to HALF a
cuetip below center on normal draw shots, and I'm now drawing full length + 6-12" on
all out power draw shots. My corner shot draw which has never gotten past the
center of table, (1-rail) has turned into a 2-rail all the way to the opposite
end! I'm very impressed with the results of your Laminated shaft. The physics
involved with the transfer of energy to the cue ball are beyond my current mental
faculties, but the results are evident. I've gushed enough for now, and I'm sacrificing
valuable table-time writing this email. I will expand on my thoughts, and let
you know what else has come to my attention.
Thanks again Arnot, Phillip A. Brann

Arnot, just got the cues in at 10:00 am and I
have been playing for the last 5 hours. I am very pleased.
I had a Joss with a Predator 314 Shaft on it.
The shaft was OK, but it doesn't nearly match up to your 24-piece Laminated shaft.
The workmanship and the balance are not even in the same ball park. Some of the
other shortcomings of my Joss cue is the lack of your very tight fitting Radial
Pin. Excellent workmanship. Your stick is a Warrior and it begs to mix things
up on the table. This stick is a very true shooting stick. I am a "C" player
and I even can feel the difference. And the Hit, well let's just say "Bravo."
I passed the stick around to some of the top A
players and they were all impressed. They all said the cue had a lot of control,
and once I let them try my Rex Feral Jump Break I wasn't sure that I was going
to get it back. The cue for me has increased balls dropping on the break 2&3
to one........WOW!! and with that Ziracote wood it's just gorgeous. The JB cue
is just a little light to what I am used to but will adjust to that. Our Top
A player was so impressed with your cues ( he wins a lot of local money tourneys,
as well as whipping up on the Chaukies boys over in San Francisco, and tears
up Palm Springs too) was wondering if you had any type of sponsorship because
he liked your cues so much? Well today was a great day Arnot, thanks so much.
It's nice to be able to look forward to go shooting
with a stick you love. In parting one last BRAVO.

I had played 8 ball in the past at home for recreation but had not picked
up a cue in 10 years. A business associate of mine talked me into playing
in the APA league last summer, and I have enjoyed it since. It is a handicap
league, and I was rated as a 2 (the worst rating), and because of that I
kept getting beat. I started to take lessons from a professional and no matter
what I did I was not improving. I was convinced that it was my cue. I had
a production cue from Palmer and the shaft was too flexible, and the other
aspect is that I am a tall person so my grip was off the wrap most of the
time. I called and talked to Arnot and he explained to me for over an hour
what kind of cue I needed and I purchase one of his Road Player cues and
got it about 5 weeks ago. Well let me tell you. I got it the same day I was supposed
to play in a tournament that night. I played one practice game
and knew that my game was going to be different. Since then
I have been on an 5 week winning streak. My handicap has move
up from a 2 to a 4, and I am still winning at that level. My
lessons are paying off with the right cue and I do not know
what I would do with out it at this point. Thanks Arnot for
the best cue.

WOW! The Black Knight looks great, better than I had hoped! I have only two
problems with this cue. First of all it breaks too well. I have to ease up
on my break because as well as this cue breaks if I hit too hard the balls
all run into each other and I don't pocket any balls. My second problem is
that when using the jump part of the cue I keep clearing not only the ball
that has me hooked, but I also end up clearing the object ball most of the
time.
This cue is worth every penny for looks alone, but to have
such great playability also is incredible! Thanks again for
such a great cue it was definitely worth the wait.

Especially for me, I only play once a week. ( about 9 hours continuously.
8-) First of all, the cue is very beautiful and amazing. And then,
I would like to say thanks for the free internal UPS shipping and the
ivory diamonds. For the power/function of this cue, be honestly, at
first it caused me troubles to shoot. Because I am too careful to use

is more easier to control the cue ball than my older Schon. (e.g.:
draw or follow) Now, my confidence has already came back. So, I think
this is a good timing to write this letter to you. Thanks Arnie, you
do build a great cue as my desired looking and with your special weapon

never what you would call a good breaker of the balls, but last night
the results were amazing. The first break I took with my cue I made
three balls off the break and with little effort. It seems funny
but when I break the balls the balls look like they are looking for
a pocket to go into. I had several good players try the cue and they
all said the same thing, that the cue hits great, and when the cue
hits the pack it sounds like they were hit with a hammer. Everyone
also remarked about the workmanship of the cue and how pretty the
combination of wood turned out. I wouldn't be surprised if you received
some additional work from some of these players. I didn't get a chance

Comments:Arnie, I received my Basic Tulip yesterday and shot with
it in my league match. I had reservations about shooting with a brand
new cue, but they were unfounded as the results were frankly fairy-tale
like. I like the 3/8-10 joint screw and as soon as I assembled the
cue I could tell that it felt a lot different going together than
other cues with this joint type. It's hard to describe but
the connection was much tighter, although simultaneously smoother
than other cues with the same joint (that I have used). I believe
this cue has a phenolic joint. It hits very quietly, yet powerfully.
It has a standard (non-laminated) shaft that hits great.
At
first I was hesitant and skeptical about the laminated shaft,
yet now I am intrigued. I was afraid that a really stiff shaft
would be prone to too much squirt yet this regular shaft seems
stiffer than my old Joss, yet I am much more accurate on power
draw shots. In fact, without modifying my old stroke I achieved
scary amounts of draw with this stick and need to recalibrate
my stroke to compensate. Before, it was always a challenge
to draw enough. This stick is also more forward weighted than
any other stick I've used (19" balance
point) and felt instantly comfortable. It felt like an old pair
of jeans and I believe I've found the balance point I like in a
stick.
It's a simple looking stick, which is what I was after,
and the wood grain is really nice looking. The whole cue
has kind of a retro look to it that reminds me of an old Palmer,
big afros, and Coke in glass bottles. Far from being a criticism,
I can spot very slight imperfections (not in fit and finish
but in the amount this stick was "processed") that
confirm that human hands created this tool and not just big
machines.
That's it. I love it, and am left intrigued about
Uni-Lock joints and laminated shafts. Along those lines Arnie,
I wonder if you can make a laminated break shaft for my break
cue (a McDermott)? It has a black joint ring and I'd like
a hard tip and relatively big shaft diameter (but who wouldn't?).
Would you do it? Incidentally Arnie, feel free to post this
in your forum if you can. I wasn't comfortable typing in
a long continuous line and didn't know how to change the
format. Thank You, Tony

Comments:It's time for an update on my Arnot Cue: After a
small adjustment period, I am playing better than ever. I
am 15-2 in my last 17 APA matches with a win in my only tournament.
I won my match last night 4-1 vs. a 6 hdcp. in 5 innings (2
break & runs). My confidence level is higher than it's
ever been.
Also, for anyone who doesn't know, my Jump/Break
Cue was stolen recently. Arnot graciously replaced it. last
night, breaking 4 times, I made 9 balls. My break has gone
from a liability to a strength. Thank You Arnot. You've made
this game fun again.
My
recommendation for ANYONE looking for a very nice, but inexpensive
cue, you can't go wrong with Arnot.

Comments:I've been playing with my new Birds Eye Maple w/Ebony Rings for
about a week now, and must say that I'm MOST impressed. The hit is solid, w/o
being too stiff, the action I'm pulling out of the cue-ball far surpasses that
which I was able to get from my previous cue (Dufferin), and the joint is extremely
tight and solid.
All in all, an A+. Thank you, Arnot, for a job very well done.

The KooCobolo is a beautiful and a great hitting cue. The
polish on the cue is incredible. The cue gleams under bright
light. The rich Cocobolo color is incredible under the polish.
The Ivory-Bloodwood ring with silver rings on the butt is
an elegant touch.

I've had no problem adjusting to the laminated shaft. In
fact from the first shot I took, it seemed as if I was playing
with the cue for years. The feel of the hit is great. The
cue does indeed feel "alive."
Thank You Arnie. Another very happy customer.

Sorry it has taken me so long Arnot, but I have honestly
been playing my Curupay Cue quite a bit now. I must say this,
it is probably the best stick I have ever had the honor of
hitting a ball with. My game is back and in rare form. I
am able to make shots I have been missing for months. My
English is much better and I seem to be controlling the cue
ball with much greater ease as well. You can rest assured
that I will tell everyone of my friends about the stick and
your fine work and craftsmanship. Keep up the good work.
I love my Arnot Q!

Comments:O.K. After finally getting a chance to knock a few
balls around with my new Birds Eye Maple, I've come to this
conclusion. It's going to take some getting used to. I've
played with a Meucci for years, so I'm not use to a stiff
shaft. That said, I'd like to add that while my cue appears
sort of plain on Arnot's web site, It is a very beautiful
piece of wood, and I've already been complemented on it twice
by strangers. I love the feel of the cue and also the way
it hits. I wanted to get me a cue to play with for the next
10 or 15 years, and I believe this will be it.
My Purple Heart Break has also given me good results. It
seems to really scatter the balls. However a technical flaw
of mine is hindering my break somewhat. It seems I must be
hitting the head ball (both 8 & 9 ball) slightly off
center. I keep putting cue ball in right side pocket (I'm left-handed). Once
I fix this problem, I'll report back. Until then, sign me off... Pleased in
KC.

Comments:Arnie, I can't begin to tell you how much I like
my new Jump/Break cue. The fit and finish are superb and
the performance is phenomenal. About jumping: If the blocking
ball is 10-12 inches away, I don't even have to take the
thing apart to clear full ball. In breaking nine-ball, the
improvement is even more striking, making two-three balls
is a common occurrence. You were right when you advised me
to back off on the speed and let the cue do the work. It's
great! One final note - everyone who sees it compliments
the appearance -- particularly the way you stained the Birdseye
to accent just the grain configuration. BTW, the purple heart/ivory
Joint Protectors are the perfect final touch for a job well
done. I haven't used the extension yet since I haven't played
on anything bigger than a 4 /1/2 x 9 but I'm looking forward
to that as well. Thank You Again...a thoroughly satisfied
George in Birmingham

Comments:Recently, I decided to treat myself to a custom
made cue after 30 + years of playing - the last 2 years seriously.
I lurked in Recreation Sports Billiard (RSB) newsgroup for
awhile to educate myself, browsed the Web and chose Arnot'
Q. I selected a relatively moderate priced cue with Arnot's
laminated shaft and took delivery yesterday. I played with
MY new weapon, the 3-Chain Tulipwood, for about 3 hours last
evening. I felt comfortable with it immediately.
Hit and Feel: The first thing I noticed was the different
feel of the tip striking the cue ball. It 'thunked' instead
of the 'click' I was accustomed to with my Mali. This 'thunk'
was very satisfying as the feedback was transmitted to my
back hand. It felt as if the cue was one piece of wood -
very solid. I attribute this to the joint. My Mali has a
metal joint and the Arnot has a wood to wood joint.
Action: I did not have difficulty getting good action on
the cue ball. In fact, the rpm's increased significantly,
especially on touch shots with a soft stroke. The cue now
does more work instead of me. This will be my area of greatest
adjustment i.e., stroke force and degree of English, draw
and follow for position. I need less now.
Workmanship: Excellent! My cue is not fancy. It has three
chains of blood wood and ivory inlaid into a nicely grained
tulip wood butt and forearm. The tulip wood has a wonderful
red hue and is beautifully finished. The three chains compliment
the tulip wood and do not steal the thunder of the natural
wood grain. The inlays are very precise and nicely fitted.
The chains actually diminish in size proportionately with
the taper! All in all, a nicely crafted cue.
Cue maker: Arnie is a fine gentleman, craftsman and honorable
businessman. He patiently and knowledgeably answered all
my questions, gave advice and discussed pros and cons of
different options, construction methods and materials. Thank
you Arnie! Bob P

Comments:Well, this is probably old news to readers of
the RSB newsgroup on the Internet, but for any others,
here goes. I've been playing pool for over 30-years and
have never owned a cue that cost over $200, mainly because
I didn't think that my "C" class game warranted it. I've been looking at,
touching, asking questions about, and drooling over one of a kind custom made
cues for decades but never expected to own one (especially the older I became).
I had the opportunity to attend the 1998 BCA Trade Show
held in Orlando, FL and while there I was able to see and
touch the cues of perhaps 80 different cue makers. It's
overwhelming, after a number of hours they All start to
look the SAME and all of the cuemakers descriptions start
to sound the same. After 30-years of perusing and dreaming
about a 'special cue', I came upon Arnot Wadsworth and
his passion and dedication to building a Great cue. Now,
there are others that have the same dedication and are
probably equally or maybe even better skilled, BUT, their
cues cost $4,000-$8,000 each.
I finally stepped out and bought what I like to call my "Arnot Attack
Cue," a real beauty for around $1,000 (with an extra shaft) that I 'think'
was under priced at that amount. When Arnot gets included in the Blue Book
of Cues (which I expect to happen soon), and more people become aware of his
work, and start beating a path to his door, I expect that his work will also
jump up into the 'High Priced' range. I'm glad to be in on the ground floor
of the next great master cuemaker and if I score any extra money while using
my new Arnot Attack Cue, I intend to buy more and more of his cues. I think
that anyone that has the chance should also buy and support this craftsman
NOW, before he gets so well known and popular that he won't talk to us anymore.....
Thanks for MY new cue Arnie and for being around before
I died from old age waiting for just the right cue == Doug

Comments:I have been wanting a 'Custom Made' cue for a
long time but just couldn't afford the price. There are
'custom' cues I could afford, but they weren't as 'pretty'
as my Joss or McDermott. Never mind that the cue from a
custom cuemaker would have had the exact hit, feel, and
balance I wanted. Never mind that I paid as much for them
as I would have paid a custom cuemaker for a 'pretty' cue.
Sometimes we just don't think things through!
Anyhow, when Arnot made his offer I impulsively decided
to do it (after checking around, asking questions, doing
some reading and so on). The long and the short of it is
this. This week I received the cue that Arnot made based
on our e-mail talks. And, I can truthfully say, it is everything
he said it would be and everything I asked him for. I have
been a an amateur and professional woodworker for 30 years
and am well qualified to judge fit, finish, construction
processes and details in anything made of wood. This cue,
for under $250.00, including Xtra shaft, shipping, handling
and insurance is an excellent example of craftsmanship
and attention to fit and finish. And no, I'm not getting
anything on the side for writing this.
For those of you who have a favorite custom cuemaker or
for other cuemakers who participate in rec.sport.billiards;
I am not saying anything negative about their/your cues.
For the most part, I have not seen examples of most them
other than in pictures and have played with very few. What
I am saying is if you are looking for a cue in the under
$500.00 range, and you do not at least check with a couple
of custom cuemakers before you rush down to your local
spa, pool and darts supply house, you aren't examining
all your options.
Before the Joss, Schuler, Schon, Predator et al fans get
upset I'm not attacking good quality production cues. But
none of those cues (and I own or have owned several of
them) were never made for ME to MY specifications, including
ferrule material, collar material and butt material. Balance
point and hit characteristics were never even remotely
an option and weight was always achieved with an insert
which often made the cue feel 'butt heavy'. With a custom
cuemaker you get what you want, hopefully when you want
it, and, I know now, at a price that makes it hard to justify
buying an off the rack production model.
Anyhow I am extremely satisfied with my dealings with Arnot
and do recommend that he be included in your search if
you are looking for a cue. I believe it will be worth the
time and money. Regards, Stoney - who is now hitting for
real.

Comments:I just recently bought a Custom Road Player and
I agree with Stoney. The cue is well crafted, good looking
and plays very well. The shaft is stiff so if you don't
like stiff shafts (no pun intended) you might want to try
something else. I spoke to Arnot on the phone. He gladly
answered all my questions. He sounded like a man that wears
his heart on his sleeve. Some people like it, some don't,
and some don't care. It sounds like he has a lot of pride
in what he's doing. I do believe if more people would try
his cues they would be impressed as well.

Comments:I don't normally get all excited when I buy a
Custom Cue, but when I received my Custom Road Player from
Arnie, I was amazed. I collect cues and sell cues. But
until someone mentioned his website on RSB (rec.sport.billiard),
I had never heard of him. I bought one of his Road Players
just to see what he was all about. The Road Player listed
for $160 plus shipping (price has increased), so I figured
what the heck, I would take a chance. Anyway I had several
design choices about weight, balance, tip, joint etc. But
the most interesting was the shaft. Laminated or Maple.
I chose a Laminated Shaft because I figured it would be
stiff and since I shoot with a Schon I would like that.
Well, when the cue arrived, I learned EXACTLY what laminated
was. And, I was very happy with the performance of the
cue. His shafts are made from very small strips of wood,
pressed together and vacuum sealed. The strips of wood
ensure the shaft stays straight and stiff. It is almost
too difficult to describe but, if anyone likes a stiff
shaft, they should check with Arnie. I also have one of
the first predator cues, and I like it, but I have to admit
I think the shaft on the Arnot Cue plays better. Just a
personal opinion. Anyway, I felt like those of you who
might be interested should know how someone who has purchased
and played with an Arnot cue liked it. Jerry

Comments:Hello Arnie, It's me! Faster Jack! Well I was
surprised when the doorbell rang at 7 PM today (Wednesday)
and the cue was delivered. I
didn't really expect it for another week or so. Arnie,
that cue is great! Not
only does it look beautiful but it plays great! Just
got up from the games room after two hours of sinking balls. There
are many things I notice that are better than my production
cue and house cues. First impression: A very solid feel
with a LOT LESS flexing than my Dufferin shaft.
Next:
a good solid hit - with a nice satisfying feel to it.
As you know, I asked you about balance, since I didn't
have a clue what to ask for. You recommended 18-inches. What a difference that makes
with open bridge shots! All my other cues have balance points too far
back, although I didn't realize that until I started shooting with your cue.
I used to always push down with my right hand on open bridge shots since the
shaft felt too light, but I believe this pushing down affected my accuracy. With
your cue there is more weight on the shaft (bridge hand) obviating the need
to push down with the result that my stroke is more relaxed and more accurate.
But the biggest surprise was how I was able to draw the cue ball back on lengthwise
across the table shots! I have never been very good at this before.
My end to end draw shots always ended up as stop shots
with maybe just a trickle of draw. With the new cue I was able to draw the cue ball back almost
two feet on my first try (Foot rail to head rail corner pocket shot). I
thought it was just a fluke, so I tried it again and again. I was able
to draw with considerable consistency like never before! I can also use
more extreme English without miscuing. My Dufferin two-piece cue was worse
in this regard than any of the house cues, regardless how I dressed the tip
and how well I chalked up. The addition of your signature was a nice touch,
for which I thank you! I like this cue very much and I think I got excellent
value for my money. Now all I have to do is practice, practice practice. Thank
you for a job well done! Jack
